Girls 100 Meter Hurdles
The girls 100 meter hurdles will feature four athletes with personal bests under 15 seconds led by Lee County's fastest in Sanaa Geter of Lehigh with PR of 14.40. She will definitely be challenged by a trio of girls from South Florida in American Heritage's Gianna Hansen (14.48) and a pair from Miami Northwestern in Sariyah Morales (14.62) and Shakynah Tresvant (14.69).
Geter is the returning champion from last year's meet when she clocked a winning time of 14.83 and just ahead of Hansen in second at 14.85. Miami Northwestern can definitely rack up some points in the event as another one of their hurdlers in Nyla Christian is ranked as the fifth seed coming into the meet with a 15.07 best.
Boys 110 Meter Hurdles
Three entrants in the boys 110 meter hurdles field who have broken 15 seconds including a pair from IMG Academy in Kobe Mendez (14.55) and Jason Ravelo (14.89), while Chaminade-Madonna's Jeremiah Smith is the top hurdler in the 1A classification currently by nearly a half second with his 14.67 personal best.
Mendez is currently ranked #9 overall in the state of Florida and is coming off a victory last weekend at the competitive IMG Spring Break Invitational with a wind-aided 14.56 performance, while teammate Ravelo was a runner-up behind him in 14.89 best.
Smith from Chaminade-Madonna will try to break them up from a 1-2 finish this weekend though at Dunbar.
