Update: The FHSAA granted a hardship waiver to allow Viera senior distance runner Aedan Rendek to compete in the regional meet this week in the 1600 meter run.
After initially being disqualified from his primary event while racing under protest after his previous (now fired) head coach who scratched him at the starting line (see full back story) at the district meet and an initial appeal to FHSAA being denied, the school administration at Viera High filed a hardship waiver appeal on his behalf to the FHSAA and was granted that appeal by executive director Craig Damon at the state association.
The FHSAA 4A Region 3 meet will be contested on Friday, May 5th at Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with Rendek and the rest of his Viera team competing.
