Some Fast Times for Florida Athletes at RunningLane

Buchholz Sr. Evan Fleming at the FHSAA 4A State Championships

Florida's young men and women dropped some impressive PR's yesterday at the RunningLane Track Championships in Huntsville.

The day started with University of Florida commit Jonah Kirspel of South Walton Beach dipping under the 1:50 800m mark with a 1:49.76.  Kirspel was the 2023 2A State 800m champion with a 1:52.59 and was 2nd in 2023 in the RunningLane 800m with a 1:50.55. In this year's race, Kirspel finished in a virtual tie for 2nd with Sr. Adin Lathrop of Texas with Freshman Cooper Lutkenhaus of Texas taking the win with a 1:49.12.

In the B5 section of the Boy's Mile, Jr.'s Liam Jordan of Berkeley Prep and Parker Adams of Bolles went 1-2 with times of 4:14.80 and 4:15.19. Unv. of Florida commit, Sr. Graham Myers of Fleming Island won the B4 section in 4:10.80 with Hagerty Sr., another Unv. of Florida commit, Jonathan Leon finishing 3rd in 4:13.45.  In the B2 section,    Buchholz Sr. Evan Fleming, with a blistering kick, placed 2nd in 4:08.55. Fleming's previous PR in the Mile was at the Nike Indoor Nationals where he ran 4:14.91.

In the Girl's Mile, the young ladies were at it again.  For the Middle Schoolers, 7th grader, Avery Hartley ran a sub-5, 4:59.80, finishing 2nd in the G3 section.  Her time places her at FL MS #1 All-Time and US #1 MS this year and at #4 All-Time for 7th graders.  In the B2 section, 8th grader, Sydney Johnson placed 10th with a 5:02.13 placing her at US MS #2 this year and FL MS #3 All-Time.

In the Girl's Championship Mile, Creekside So. Alyson Johnson was 4th with a 4:47.92.  Her time ranks her at FL #8 All-Time and #2 for Sophomores.
