Buchholz Sr. Riley Smith was injured for the FHSAA State Series but had an incredible Senior season starting with a win in the 4A State Cross Country Championship. He's not at the top of the most improved in the 3200 as he had not run one until this year. His 1st 3200m was a win at the FSU Relays in 8:39.71. Following XC, he ran a 4:04.65 indoor Mile at the Florida HS challenge. He followed that up with victories in the Millrose Games Mile in 4:05.05 and NIN Mile in 4:06.68. Outdoor before his injury, he ran a 1:50.96 in winning the 800m at the Florida Relays.

Excluding any performances in the NON, NBON or AON, here is a list ranking the top 100 most improved Boys and Girls in the Distance Races. (To make this ranking, you had to be in the top 100 in your event this season.)
