All-Florida MileSplit Freshmen Girls Track & Field Team

Montverde Academy's Dasia Reed is the Florida MileSplit Freshman Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year.  Her year was impressive.  She was the #1 ranked Freshman girl in the 100 (11.45) and 200m (23.65) and #3 in the 400 (55.44). In the State overall rankings she was #5 in the 100, #8 in the 200 and 23rd in the 400.   


Reed's outstanding season started in February with a win in the 60m at the Florida HS/MS Indoor Championships in 7.59. She followed that up by running 2nd, to her teammate Adaejah Hodge, in the NBNI 200m with a time of 23.67.

Outdoor she was the 2A State 100m Champion with an 11.92 and runner-up in the 200 to another Montverde teammate, Alivia Williams, in 24.02. She was 6th in the NBNO 200m with a 23.66 and ran the 3rd leg on the Montverde girls' 3:31.68 winning 4x400m Relay that established a new US Scholastic record
