Montverde Academy's Skyler Franklin, who will be a Jr. next year, continued her amazing year, running a FL HS #2 All-Time 51.01 400m at the American Track League's Holloway Pro Classic in Gainesville. Franklin time is also a US HS #3 All-Time. She also moved into elite company as her time just missed getting her into the U18 World Athletics All-Time Top 10. She is ranked #12.
The Florida #1 is held by Sanya Richards-Ross of St. Thomas Aquinas who ran a 50.69 at the 2002 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships. Richards-Ross's 50.69 is the US #1 time. Monique Henderson of Morse (SD) holds the #2 spot with a 50.74 that she ran in 2002 in the CIF State Track and Field Championships.
