Gaither Honored By Bahamas For Athletics And Academics




Former Osceola sprinter Tynia Gaither, who will run next year for the University of Georgia, was one of 19 Bahamian athletes to be honored by the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) for their work on the track as well as academically.Athletes were required to maintain at least a 2.5 GPA  and have competed in the Bahamian World Youth Championships. The event which is in its fourth year is the idea of Bahamas Athletics founder Kermit Taylor and the Public Relations Committee for the BAAA. The award ceremony took place at the Bahamas Government House which is home to the Governor General of the Bahamas.
