Stars on the Rise

  • Despite it being a strictly underclassmen meet, the winners in the 5 Star Freshman-Sophomore Meet produced some BIG numbers on and around the Deltona track.

  • Spruce Creek freshman Xavier Atkins scored a rare triple, with a 10.98 in the 100, 21.89 in the 200, and 51.13 in the 400.

  • For the second time in two years, DeLand sophomore Keneth Pineiro won both the 1600 and 3200--beating the nearest competition by hundreds of yards, and lapping the rest--in 4:30.91 and 9:46.34, respectively.

  • Anthony Greggo (Spruce Creek) won both hurdles (17.36 and 43.83).

  • Keith Narozny ruled the weights; 43-9 in the shot and 112-10 in the discus.

  • Seabreeze sophomore Charles Nelson won both jumps; 23-9 in the long and 44-2 in the triple.

  • Two girls were double winners: Spruce Creek team mates Krista Colubiale took the short sprints (13.15 in the 100 and 26.59 in the 200), and Courtney Belgrade won the high jump (4’8”) and the triple jump (32’8-1/2”).
