Marvin Bracy might not have got the 9.97 he was hoping for and no Soldier Boy dance from coach Ricky Argro, but the standout from Boone High School ran an incredible race at the finals of the Texas Relays. Bracy busted out of the blocks and maintained a solid drive phase through the remaining 50 meters to run a blistering a time of 10.06. The mark was wind aided by a 2.4 mph wind. It is the fourth best wind aided mark of all time behind his 10.05 ran last year at USATF Junior Nationals. The nearest competior was Aldrich Bailey of Texas three tenths of a second behind Bracy crossing the line in 10.36. To put things in perspective, Univeresity of Florida standout Jeff Demps won the college 100 meters in a wind aided (2.9 mph) time of 10.01.

Prelims
Boone speedster Marvin Bracy tested his hand against of the top sprinters in the Lone State at the Texas Relays. In the prelims Bracy cruised to a time of 10.37 in his first 100 meter performance of the year. The time which was aided by a 2.1 mph wind was the fastest time of the afternoon ahead of Texans Tremayne Acy (10.38) and Aldrich Bailey (10.39). Bracy's trainer Ricky Argro captured all the action video.
Argro says he has broken down the first 60 meters of the race because that is the part Bracy ran hard before coasting the rest.
"He did pretty good, but not great. He wasn't happy with it. He finished healthy though which is what we wanted. He has a lot to clean up before tomorrow technique wise and he knows that. Tonight we're going to go bowling to get his mind off the race and let him relax, rehydrate and rub out tonight, stretch, and get ready for tomorrow.
Bracy added that he felt uncomfortable and didn't like his race, but will be ready to post some big times on Saturday.
"I'm looking for a 9.97 on the clock. Don't worry I'll tear it up"
The finals are set for Saturday afternoon.
