What was the biggest adjustment you had to make to compete at the college level?
The biggest adjustment was having to balance academics and athletics. The academics in college are much more rigorous than in high school, so scheduling and finding the time to fit everything in is much more challenging.
Is there anything you can tell high school athletes to better prepare them for the college experience?
Have fun in high school running and enjoy the experience. You will have four more years of college running to train and work hard, so stay mentally fresh and excited.
What memories from competing in high school stand out the most?
I would have to say racing at the Footlocker Championships was a pretty amazing experience. You are treated like royalty and everything about the trip is a first class experience.
What do you miss most about running in high school?
I miss all my friends and teammates from high school. Although I have a new team and great friends around me now, it's hard to leave the ones you started out with.
What piece of coaching or advice that someone gave you has been the biggest help?
Keep it fun. The more fun you are having with the sport, the more relaxed and rewarding the racing will be.
