Dr. Phillip's class of 2012 runner Logan Kruse had a great high school career for the Panthers. He is currently a freshman running for Rice University. Recently, we caught up with Logan to find out what he has been up to in this Where Are They Now feature.
What was the biggest adjustment you had to make to compete at the college level?
The biggest adjustment was managing my time wisely because I don't have a lot of free time and it is easy to fall behind on school work.
Is there anything you can tell high school athletes to better prepare them for the college experience?
Be prepared to work harder than you have ever done in high school. The competition is fierce and balancing school work with daily training is very difficult.
What memories from competing in high school stand out the most?
The memories that standout the most are running with my team at Nike Pre-Nationals my sophomore year and then competing at Foot Locker South the following year.
What do you miss most about running in high school?
I miss the members of my team. We had a great friendship and bond as a team that was difficult to break up.
What piece of coaching or advice that someone gave you has been the biggest help?
The best piece of advice I have gotten is to do what I love and right now I love having the ability to further my education and to train and run as a college athlete.
