Bolles senior Ally Hajda is one of the top runners for a Bulldog team that has won the last four 2A Cross Country Finals and had equal success on the track. Mandarin class of 2013 graduate Lucas Shannon has come home to the Mustang's as their coach following the retirement of longtime coach James Schmitt. The squad is coming off their 10th straight Gateway Conference championship and is hoping to make some noise in the postseason. An exciting evening of cross country competition in Jacksonville will be underway this Saturday at the Katie Caples Invitational hosted at Bishop Kenny High School. Action begins at 5pm with the girl's middle school 3k race and continues through the night with the final race, boys elite 5k, launching at 8:50.

It's no surprise that state leader Charles Hicks is the top male on the list after improving his SB to 15:33 at the Florida Horse Park Invitational, while Lincoln freshman Alyson Churchill ran a FL#2 of 18:05 in Georgia this past weekend.
Lincoln freshman Alyson Churchill just began her high school career in cross country and has already become a spotlight runner. Starting her season at the Miller Landing Madness Alyson placed 10th with a time of 19:20. Just a week later Alyson ran 18:46 to win the Cougar XC Challenge. She is not new to running though. Alyson has run very well in the past including winning both the 3000m at the FLYRA Panhandle Regional Middle School Qualifier and 1600m at the Leon County Middle School Championships. We caught up with Alyson to talk summer training, transitioning to high school, the 2016 season, and much more.

Bolles sophomore Charles Hicks and Fletcher senior Kayley Delay who both won the Bale -n- Trail Original take the top spots after a weekend which saw severe weather storm put a halt to several meets in the area.
Trinity Christian's Jacob Mcleod out of Georgia defeated the Florida field at the Bale -n- Trail Cross Country Original while Fletcher's Kayley Delay won the girl's race for the second year in a row. The Bolles boys and Chile girls took home team titles. Jacob Fuller recaps all the action from Bartram Trail High School.
Although tropical storm Hermine might have postponed the races, cross country action is again set for Monday, September 5th as Bartram Trail High School hosts the Bale-n-Trail Cross Country Original.
Action will be under way this weekend in Orange Park for the 20th annual Bob Hans Invitational hosted by Ridgeview High School. 22 teams will compete from all over Jacksonville and the north Florida area. Teams are excited to open the season of competition and see how they stack up.
