Hey Flrunners! I hope everyone has ran some great first races and gotten some fast times. Based on all the results I've seen, it seems like it's going to be an amazing season! It's been a while since I've blogged, but I've got so much to talk about. So let's get started.
Saturday was action packed at the Mark Bostic Golf Course at the University of Florida, the site of the 2014 UF Mt. Dew Invitational. Nearly 100 girls teams toed the line in both the high school and college divisions. We wanted to see what the outcome would have been if the high school and college athletes ran together so we combined the results. High school winner Alexa Cruz of St. Thomas Aquinas would have finished 12th overall, while girl's team champions Pine Crest would have beat out EIGHT college teams. See how you and your team would have fared.
The spectacular showings by Alexa Cruz and Nick Diaz at the UF Mt. Dew Invitational have earned them Athlete of the Week as well as a nomination for MileSplit Performer of the Week. Make sure you vote and show our Sunshine State standouts some love. Voting ends on Thursday, September 25 at 8 PM ET.
