Hillsborough High School's Jeremiah Green ranks as the second best long jumper in the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet history behind Jeremy McDuffie of Georgia. McDuffie won the event in 2014 with a mark of 22'8.75" beating the now University of Alabama standouts mark of 22'8.25 in 2013 by the narrowest of margins. Green is one of few high schoolers to compete with the collegiate athletes in the triple jump where he won the event and unleashed a monster mark of 50'6.25".

Former Leon standout Matt Mizereck holds the top time in the 3000m and is sixth all-time in the one mile run at the Jimmy Carnes. Mizereck posted times of 8:39.51 and 4:26.78 in 2010 as a senior. Lake Mary's Erica Sergeant holds the meet record in the pole vault with a clearance of 12'4" at the 2013 Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. Sergeant, now at Kennesaw State University, competed in the meet her sophomore through senior seasons and finished those track campaigns with a state championship. Former Fort Myers standout Emily Edwards had hopes of breaking Stephanie Strasser's one mile record (5:04.16) set at Jimmy Carnes in 2010, but fell just short with her 5:04.98. Looking over the names on this list should excite any sprint fan. Current UF Gator Shayla Sanders posted two US#1 times as a senior at Boyd Anderson when she ran 6.85 in the 55m dash and 23.89 for 200 meters in 2012. The 2015 and final Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet kicked off Friday morning with the collegiate and open competition. The highlight of the day former Boone/FSU and current Adidas sprinter Marvin Bracy opened up his indoor season with a world leading mark of 6.09 second in the 55m dash. His time was one one hundredth off the 6.08 he ran in 2012 at this meet to set the high school indoor national record.

Nicole Carroll, two-time 2A state champ in the pole vault, set a new meet record clearance of 13 feet, the 7th best vault in the US and third all-time ever in Florida behind Erica Sergeant (13'2.5") and Lacy Janson's 13'1.75. Check out the video by Zack Bias!
UF signee Sharrika Barnett out of Oak Ridge High School won a loaded girls 17-19 400m dash in 55.39. Barnett said after the race, it was a special moment because not only was she running in Gainesville, but she had finished runner-up in this event in 2012 and 2013. Her time is the fastest all-time at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet and currently the third best time in the country for 2015.
The Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet is an age group meet. However we wondered how it would play out if it was run as one big meet so we combined the results. Seneca Milledge, only an 8th grader, scored the top time in the 55m dash and second best leap in the long jump regardless of age. Age is just a number and a trio of girls proved that Saturday at the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet. Sixth grader Tamari Davis and seventh graders Briana Williams and Trinity Flagler posted age group times that would have ranked them among the best sprinters in the whole meet! Charlotte senior Marshall Dillon was just shy of the meet record in the boys mile with his time of 4:21.40, while Justin Pacifico and Yohance Haynes duked it out in the 800 in route to the top two times in meet history. Tyrese Cooper proved why he is the top freshman in the nation and was tested by friend Seneca Milledge! We combined the 13-14, 15-16, and 17-19 results to see who had the fastest times/best marks in every event!
