Seventh grader Tamari Davis headlines the field at the 2016 FLYRA Middle School State Championships this weekend at IMG Academy in Bradenton. Davis won the 100m dash at last years meet in 11.91w and has already run 11.90 and 11.81 this season. She was second in the 200 and will be favored to win that event as well with a PR of 24.32. Soloman Weller of Indian Rocks Christian was 5th in the 800m run at last year's FLYRA Middle School State Championship. With the graduation of the four runners in front of him, Weller looks to end his middle school career with a title. IF he decides to run the 1,500 he has one of the top times in that event as well. In year's past their have been two ways to qualify for the state meet which were to either run a qualifying time at any FAT meet or by being in the top two at a regional championship. Meet Director Jason Byrne says this year the road to Bradenton will be slightly different.
