Although tropical storm Hermine might have postponed the races, cross country action is again set for Monday, September 5th as Bartram Trail High School hosts the Bale-n-Trail Cross Country Original.
The show must go on and it did for the athletes competing at the Bale -n- Trail Cross Country Original. The meet was originally scheduled for Saturday, but Hurricane Hermine postponed action until Monday. Nearly two dozen teams made their way to Bartram Trail High School as did our photographer Chris Tucker who captured over 1,200 photos of all the action including this shot of the start of the girl's varsity race.
Jacob McLeod of Georgia's Trinity Christian made the trip down south to Jacksonville and defeated the field of Floridians at the Bale -N- Trail Cross Country Original meet. Charles Hicks of Bolles and Michael Phillips of Chiles finished second and third respectively, running sub 16 times of 15:45.85 and 15:58.88, the third and fifth fastest times in the Sunshine State through week two.
Fletcher senior Kayley Delay kicked off her 2016 season at the Bale -N- Trail Cross Country Original meet at Bartram Trail High School. Delay, the 4A Cross Country Finals runner-up, won the meet for the second straight year, finishing in a FL#3 time of 18:40.92.
Trinity Christian's Jacob Mcleod out of Georgia defeated the Florida field at the Bale -n- Trail Cross Country Original while Fletcher's Kayley Delay won the girl's race for the second year in a row. The Bolles boys and Chile girls took home team titles. Jacob Fuller recaps all the action from Bartram Trail High School.
