Rheinhardt Harrison, the distance star at Nease High School, rolled to a personal best time of 1:51.48 in the 800 meter run at the Bolles Bulldog Classic on Friday evening in Jacksonville. The performance is the second-fastest time this outdoor season in Florida behind only Samuel Austin at 1:51.24. Harrison had little competition to press him to the time winning by a margin of 4 seconds and only one other runner in the field breaking 2 minutes in Buchholz senior Nathan Bailes at 1:55.54 for second place. As his time continue to improve in the 800, Harrison should see his chances of breaking 4 minutes in the mile improve after running 4:01.34 as a sophomore last outdoor season.
Terry Parker’s Aaron Bell is looking to be the next athlete to run sub-21 this year.
Nease junior Rheinhardt Harrison ran one of the top times in the country for 800 meters in a 1:51 PR.
