Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Jim Ryun competed in three Olympic Games, winning a silver medal in the 1500m in 1968 in Mexico City. He later served 10 years in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Jim Ryun was the first American boy to run sub 4 in the full mile. He held 3 World records and is widely considered by many to be the best male high school athlete of all-time.
