The fastest district of them all seemed to come from Mills Pond Park as the Pine Crest girls dominated the field at 2A-15. Freshman Tsion Yared ran 18:00.03 for the district title and first of her running career. On the boy's side Charles Hicks of Bolles continued his sophomore season by capturing the 2A District 4 crown in 15:53.99, joining John Cacciatore (15:57.10) and Trevor Foley (15:59.34) as the only three under 16 minutes. We take a look at the top 500 times state wide for class 2A to see who won the week.

1A, the state's smallest classification paved their road to state this week during district week. The Westminster Academy girls (shown above) brought home the 1A District 14 Championship with Jasmine Hincapie taking individual honors. Her time of 20:34.54 ranks as the 17th best of the week. Samantha Folio of Holy Trinity clocked an impressive 18:34.18 to win 1A-11 while Drew De Armas of The First Academy ran sub 17 minutes (16:51.00) to defend his 1A-10 crown. Coach Haley - 'I Won The NH State Championship In 1958, My Largo Kids Won Ten State Titles' Todd Grasley Oct 23, 2016

At the recent 3A District 10 Championship we had the honor of catching up with one of the winningest cross country coaches in state history, former Largo coach Brent Haley. Haley, who is volunteering with the Northeast program won ten state titles and had eight runner up finishes at the helm for the Packers, but ask him how many titles he won and he'd tell you one and that was in New Hampshire back in his high school days, the other ten he credits to the young men he coached.

3A District 3 Featured Photo Album: Lincoln's Churchill Takes Off, Doesn't Look Back Todd Grasley Oct 22, 2016

Lincoln freshman Alyson Churchill continued her fantastic season by winning her first district championship at the 3A-3 meet in Tallahassee. Churchill's time of 18:28.87 was more than a minute and a half faster than her nearest competitor. Matthew Cashin of Leon won the boys race while Chiles swept both team trophies. Chris Tucker was on-site and snapped over 400 photos of all the action.

Creekside senior and UF commit Matthew Clark led a trio of boys to go under 16 minutes at the 3A District 4 Championship joining teammate Nick Deal and Matthew Neeley of Bartram Trail. The girl's race was equally exciting with Claire Moritz winning in 18:26.70 ahead of Lauren Stanford and Claire Openshaw who also clocked times under 19 minutes. The Creekside boys and Ponte Vedra girls won the team titles. North Florida correspondent Jacob Fuller was on-site with all the race video and interviews.


Mandarin Boys Beat Buchholz In Tie Breaker, Delay, Pigg Propel Fletcher Girls Ricky Quintana Oct 22, 2016

Buchholz senior Calum McFetridge clocked his second sub 16 minute time of the season to win the 4A District 1 Championship, but it was Mandarin who put them in a race that saw each team score an identical 54 points. On the girl's side Fletcher senior Kayley Delay and freshman Liberty Pigg went 1-2 to give their squad the team title over Mandarin with 33 points. Ricky Quintana was on-site and recaps the day's events.


Stress Fracture Ends Season For Jupiter Fr. Ali Del Re Todd Grasley Oct 22, 2016

Jupiter's Ali Del Re didn't toe the line for this week's 4A District 16 Championship. Instead, Del Re, ranked third in 4A, and the fourth best freshman in the state of Florida was on the sidelines, wearing a boot on her right foot, and cheering on her teammates after a stress fracture in her right ankle caused her to cancel her postseason plans.

The Boyd Anderson Cobras might be known more for their track prowess then on the cross country course, but things are changing. Coach Spann's squad swept both the team titles at the 3A District 15 Championship at Mills Pond Park. It marked the second in the row for the boys and the first for the girls under her tenure. South Florida correspondent Eddie Romero was on-site and has all the race video and interviews.

Tsion Yared and the Pine Crest Panthers showed why they are one of the best teams in 2A and the state and one of the top underclassmen squads in the country. Coach Baur's squad took the top seven spots with the top five four freshmen and one eighth grader. On the boy's side Calvary's Danny Ferro edged out Michael Kennedy of Pine Crest for the win as the Panther's swept team titles. Watch all the race videos & interviews.


Photopalooza: Nearly 250 Images From 3A District 16 Todd Grasley Oct 21, 2016

Teri Bernhardt-Rodriguez was on-site at 3A District 16 and captured nearly 250 photos including the start of the boy's race that was dominated by the boys of Belen Jesuit who scored a perfect 15 points led by individual winner Joshua Collins. On the girl's side Valerie Lastra dropped a new course record and the ladies of Miami Northwestern edged out Lastra's Mater Academy Charter team.

The 2A District 10 Championship was one of the smallest this week in the state of Florida, but that didn't stop us from getting coverage! Andy Warrener was on-site at Al Lopez Park and captured nearly 200 photos including this one of the start of the boy's varsity race won by Berkeley Prep's Leo Ochoa.

In between coaching for the Clearwater High School cross country teams at the 3A District 10 Championship, Josh Carroll was able to snap over 200 photographs of the runners and awards including this awesome shot of two Tornadoes congratulations each other as they both realize they are headed to regionals and their season will continue. The CHS girls and boys both advanced as teams as well.
