In Her Own Words: Kendall Ellis

Hey everyone I’m back again. As you know, last week the team went up to Jacksonville for the Bob Hayes meet and I must say the team did amazing. So many of our athletes PRed and just had an overall great performance. The girls and I had so much fun before the meet, running around stores, taking pictures, and just bonding - my favorite. This week we have counties and there’s still work to be done, so we rejoiced in our victory, but it’s back to the grind.

I must say my coaches are the absolute best. You have Coach Dorsett, always willing to lend a listening ear; Coach Terry, who lightens the mood with his humor; Coach Butler, the realest woman you’ll ever meet; Coach Kim, the sweetest lady I know; and last but not least head coach Coach Alex. There are really no adjectives to describe him you’d just have to meet him yourself. All in all, my coaches are the greatest support system an athlete like myself could have. They have the most patience and utmost confidence in their athletes and stand by our sides the entire season through, just as a coach should.

Now let’s talk about competition. I love my competition and desire to see them succeed and achieve their goals just as much as I want to do the same. Ultimately we all want the same thing: success. Competition drives us and pushes us to our very best, they help you become a better you. One of the best things I’ve ever read is this - “Yesterday’s fast is today’s slow. Focus”. It’s so true. Every day someone somewhere out there is working hard to get better. Are you?
