The 2014 track and field season is looming with several preseason meets this weekend and the start of the regular season right around the corner. Over the coming days we will take a look at the top ten returners in each event by class. On the girls side, Deanna Hill looks to pick up where she left off in 2013 after winning the 100 meter crown. Deja Parrish has been a mainstay in the 400 meters, can anyone take her down? Daesha Rogers has owned the 800 and 1600 meters since she was a sixth grader, will 2014 be any different? Can a stellar distance field overtake her in the 1600? Julia Montgomery and Mackenzie Wilson, two stars who duked it out on the cross country course will likely be in that final as well as the 3200 meter final. Stefani Kerrison of Jones has made a name for herself in the hurdles and will also play a role in the field events. Danielle Phillips of Rockledge will also be a dual threat on the track and in the field, as will Caitlin Wilson of Godby.
