Bob Hayes Invitational


Girls 100m Dash


Palatka junior Ka'Tia Seymour uses a strong surge at the end of her race to beat fellow junior Twanisha Terry of Miami Northwestern in a state leading and US#4 time of 11.72. Terry was second in 11.76s.

Girls 100m Hurdles


Miami Northwestern senior and UF signee Timetria Mitchell breaks former Lady Bull Caryle Decruise's meet record from 2002 by running a blistering 13.69. The time was short of her personal best of 13.61s.

Girls 4x100m Relay

The Bob Hayes Invitational meet record went down in the girls 4x100m relay, not once, but twice. The ladies of Westlake High School In Georgia finished with a US#9 time of 46.64 with Miami Northwestern second in 46.68. Rickards owned the previous record from 2004 with a time of 46.82s.

Girls 400m Dash


The Bob Hayes record books were once again re-written in the girls 400m dash. Southridge junior Symone Mason owned the top time in the country coming into the race. Mason was pushed to her limits by McEachern (GA) senior Mackenzie Dunmore. Dunmore eased up in the final meters finishing with a US#2 time of 53.79 and Mason at 53.96 which broke the old meet best of 53.99 set by Brittany Jones of Deerfield Beach in 2006.


Boys 400m Dash


The nation has seen what freshman phenom Tyrese Cooper of American High School is capable of this year. So when "Smoke" wins meet MVP and his coach says his best race of the day was the 400m dash you have to feature it. Cooper ran a blazing 46.51 which was one one-hundredth off the meet record of 46.50 set by Brandon O'Connor in 2008.


Girls 800m Run


Southridge junior Kayla Johnson has shown her middle distance depth all year going 54s in the 400 and then running 2:10 in the 800. Saturday, she focused on the open 800m and didn't quite improve her PR of 2:09.60, but did manage to make an easy time of the field on her way to a meet record of 2:10.74.


Boys 800m Run


Speaking of 800's Flagler Pacifico senior and UF signee Justin Pacifico earned himself  Co-MVP honors with a fantastic final lap to cross the line in a FL#2 time of 1:54.13.


Girls 200m Dash

Miami Northwestern junior Twanisha Terry didn't get the win in the 100, but she came back and clinched victory in the 200 tying the meet record set by Erica Whipple in 2001, and running a PR, and US#2 time of 23.72s. Fellow juniors Symone Mason and Ka'Tia Seymour also broke 24s going an US#4 23.91, and US#6 23.94.

Boys 4x400m Relay



Everyone gets hyped for the last race of the night and the 4x400m relay at Bob Hayes lived up to the hype! American and Northwestern have been going at it all season, talking a little trash at times as well.  Shammond Williams started first for the Patriots with teammates Dawun Hylton, Jamir Ferguson, and Tyrese Cooper rounding out the parade as the team finished first in a new meet record, FL#2, and US#3 time of 3:14.79. MNW was second, but they still have the state leader and US#2 time of 3:14.29 to their credit.
