Lincoln's Alyson Churchill continued her fantastic freshman season Friday under the lights at the 2017 FSU Relays. In a field, that consisted of state champions, NXN finalists, Foot locker National finalists, and the best distance runners in the state, Churchill looked calm cool and collected as she navigated her way to victory in the girls 3,200m crossing the line in a US#1 time of 10:23.81.
Just as impressive as her time was the fact that she took the lead from the gun and never relinquished it. As the race got longer, so did her lead. According to our all-time rankings Churchill's time ranks as the second best EVER in Florida behind only Kathryn Fleuhr's 10:18.29 at the 1A Region 3 meet in 2011. See what Churchill had to say after one of the best races of her young career.
