Recent NC State commit, Alyssa Hendrix, led the Florida girls in the Race of Champions at the Great American Cross Country Festival.
Hendrix missed her PR by a few seconds, running a season best of 17:31.5 to finish fourth overall with Tsion Yared finishing right behind for fifth in a time of 17:35.0.
Yared's Pine Crest teammate, Emily Faulhaber, set a huge PR of 17:56.8 to finish in the top 15 and help lead her team to an outstanding third place finish against top national contending teams. Pine Crest finished out the weekend with a team average of 18:32.
Elizabeth Csikai and Maxine Montoya led the way for the Bolles ladies with their 18:22 and 18:27 finishes, but it was down to a tie breaker with Cuthbertson of NC taking fifth place over Bolles.
Rylee Pustilnik finished sub 19 minutes for the first time this season showing mental strength as she finished in a time of 18:48.1 with Montverde Academy's Lily Henne finishing next in a time of 18:59.
