Oak Hall Girls, Steinbrenner Boys Show Strength at Bobcat Classic

Team work was in full force this weekend at the Bobcat Classic.

Austin Montini led the boys varsity race from start to finish, setting a new school record of 15:52 while leading Matthew Stratton to a lifetime PR of 15:57.94.

The Steinbrenner boys brought their a-game, with their varsity b-squad. The boss cross won the team title with a 30 second 1-5 split with Nick Sowell leading the way in a time of 16:55, talk about depth.

On the girls side, Ani Veltcheva, took the varsity girls win in a time of 19:17 for her first breakout race of the season. Lauren Jones followed with a 19:31.61 to lead the Oak Hall girls to victory.

Oak Hall had Jones, Sydney Miller, and Harrison Grooms all sub 20 minutes and finished out their top five with Gabby Aulisio and Ally Means sub 20:06. These ladies had a hard training week and we can expect some big things from them heading into FSU Pre-State Weekend.
