Illif, Leon Duo Command Leads at New World Fall Spectacular
New World Fall Spectacular hosted many top teams in the Jacksonville and Tallahassee area this weekend.
Creekside's Elizabeth Iliff commanded the girls varsity race with her first sub 19 minute 5k of the season, winning the race in a blazing time of 18:11 to lead her team to victory over Leon HS.
The Leon boys had themselves a day in the varsity boys race, capturing the first two individual spots and the team victory over Fleming Island. Jackson Yarbrough and Jake Rogers, two underclassmen for the Leon Squad had stellar PR's as they head into FSU weekend on their home course.
Keep your eyes on Fleming Island. Will Livesay finished fourth overall to lead his team to a second place finish, by one point against Leon. Their 1-5 split was under 50 seconds with a team average of 16:23 -- one second behind Leon.
