Armwood senior, Jake Turner, will join the University of North Florida men come 2020. He took to twitter to announce the news.
The future Osprey is coming off a breakout race at the FSU Invitational where he ran a smoking 15:24 to finish third overall in the elite race.
Turner is a multi-time cross country and track state medalist finishing third last year at the 3A Cross Country State Finals, and fifth in 3200m and seventh in the 1600m at the 2018 Track State Finals. He holds PR's of 4:20 in the 1600m, 9:19 in the 3200m, and 15:24 in the cross country 5k -- a strong pickup for the Ospreys as they look to continue their ASUN conference cross country domination.
Now moving up to class 4A, Turner is eyeing the individual state title to close out his senior season. Nease sophomore, Rhinehardt Harrison, will be challenging him at the top come November. One thing is for sure, there could be an epic finish line battle going down at Apalachee Regional Park in a few weeks.
