Krystal Rodriguez (Coral Reef) - Girls Mile, 800
One of the state's top girls middle distance runners will have at least one final high school meet before she heads off to Oklahoma State University in Coral Reef's Krystal Rodriguez. While the state meet finishes did not go how she wanted in attempting the difficult 1600 and 800 double in 4A against tough competition, Rodriguez will look to bounce back here in the final Golden South Series meet on a positive note with a victory and fast time.
Rodriguez is entered in both the mile and 800 here as well, so will be interesting to see if she attempts to race in both which she has had showed no fear in that challenge this season or opts to focus on one race. She has a 4:57 PR in the mile, while a 2:09 personal best in the 800 that seeds her as the top seed and favorite in both races.
