In a collection of many of the state's top high school javelin throwers on Friday at the East Coast Classic, New Smyrna Beach's Cole (CJ) Crkvenac rose to the occasion as the defending 3A state champion threw a state-leading and personal best throw of 58.5 meters to win the competition.
