Bolles Grad Charles Hicks Wins NCAA Division 1 XC Nationals

Charles Hicks, a 2019 graduate of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, won the NCAA Division 1 Cross Country Nationals individual title on Saturday in Stillwater, Oklahoma as Stanford redshirt sophomore Hicks was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 28:43.6 to outlast Northern Arizona's Nico Young (2nd, 28:44.5).

Hicks broke the course record by 43 seconds and became the first individual champion ever in the history of the Stanford program with the victory. 


The British born runner who grew up in Jacksonville, Florida is one of the more decorated high school runners in state history at Bolles including earning All-American honors at Foot Locker Nationals and Team Nationals, while holding the state 3200 meter record on the track at 8:49 prior to Rheinhardt Harrison breaking it two years ago.  Hicks becomes the first ever Florida high school alumni to win an NCAA Division 1 cross country men's individual title.
