VOTE: Florida Boys Track & Field Performer Of The Week

The nominees include:

  • Miguel Pantojas (Hagerty) - Pantojas was a double winner in the 800 and mile at the RADD Sunshine Showcase with a US leading and state indoor record time of 1:50.58 followed by a US #7 victory of 4:12.88 in the mile
  • Issam Asinga (Montverde Academy) - Assinga edged out a fast section of Montverde Academy teammates Zyaire Nuriddin and Micah Larry in the 200 with a US #5 clocking of 21.35, which is the nation's leading time at the moment.
  • Alex Georgiev (Montverde Academy) - Georgiev cleared an indoor best height of 15'5.75" at the RADD Sunshine Showcase, which is the top performance in the state this year and among top 50 in the nation.
  • Sam Romerhaus (IMG Academy) - After never throwing over 50 feet before, Romerhaus launched a state leading mark of 54'2" to win the shot put at the RADD Sunshine Showcase while also finishing second in the weight throw competition (55'3.50"). 
  • Riley Smith (Buchholz) - The Buchholz junior blazed a fast time in the rarely run 600-meter race with a US #11 time of 1:23.05 at the RADD Sunshine Showcase.
  • Davonte Howell (IMG Academy) - Howell rolled to victory in the 60 meter dash finals at the RADD Sunshine Showcase with a personal best and US #12 clocking of 6.79.
  • Ian Ludlam (Alonso) - Ludlam had a breakthrough performance running under 50 seconds for the first time in the 400 and winning the event from a slow heat of the RADD Sunshine Showcase with a time of 49.06.
