Previewing Saturday's Races At FSU Relays

Girls 100m Dash

Might see US No. 1, US No. 2, and US No. 3 produced here in the girls 100 with Micayah Holland and Adaejah Hodge of Montverde Academy making their outdoor season debuts and having run in the 11.2s with wind legal efforts in the past.

Holland is the country's second fastest returnee from last outdoor season and teammate Hodge ranks fourth fastest among returnees in the nation.

Meanwhile, East Lake's Sophie Haag is coming off her US No. 1 all-conditions 11.41 PR last week to make her the third seed at the FSU Relays.

Holland set the meet record last year at FSU with a 11.47 victory.

Boys 100m Dash

We know have seen what Issam Asinga can do for 200 meters after setting the national record in the event indoors two weeks ago in Boston, but we will get our chance to see the Montverde Academy sprint star's capabilities when it comes to the 100 meter dash at his new home state in Florida.

Assinga, originally from the state of Missouri, was a state champion there last spring with a 10.41 personal best and also winner at the Great Southwest Classic, which is an elite post-season meet held every year in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

His top challenger in the 100 meter dash and one of the state's most talented young sprinters in freshman Kaj Baker of Somerset Academy comes up to South Florida with his 10.56 personal best in the event. Baker won the 100 meter dash at the Southridge Spartan Invitational and Ellis Elite 16 Invitational, while finished as a close runner to fellow freshmen phenom Brandon Bennett of American Heritage last weekend.
