Dillard and Buchholz Shine in NIN DMRs

The Dillard girls won the DMR at the NIN running a FL #2 Indoor/Outdoor all-time 11:49.05 and the Buchholz boys were 2nd in the NIN DMR with a 10:00.25.

Christiana Coleman, given the lead by her teammates, led the anchor leg 1600m until 200m to go when she was passed by Caroline Elliott of South Lakes TC of Virginia,  the VA #2 ranked miler with a 4:53.12 time this season. The two battled the last 200m and Coleman came back to edge Elliott at the finish to get the win in the DMR.  Sr. Raquel Edwards led off in the 1200, Jr. Alexia Reid followed in the 400, 7th grader Shynah Collins ran the 800m 3rd leg, and Sr. Christiana Coleman anchored the 1600 for the win in 11:49.08.  The girl's time is Florida's #2 Indoor/Outdoor All-Time.  IMG set the record of 11:34.86 in winning the Adidas Indoor Nationals in 2021. The Buchholz boys, Running as Dreamville TC-Fl, were 2nd in their race.  The team of Sr. Evan Flemming, Fr. Daniel Ouko-Omondi, Jr. Gino Palazolla, and Sr. Riley Smith ran a 10:00.25 as the team from Crater Lake TC-OR held on at the finish to win in 10:00.06. Smith, who got the baton back about 20m at the anchor leg exchange, caught and battled the Crater Lake Anchor Josiah Tostenson to the finish running a 4:02 split.  Tostenson and Smith are ranked US #3 and 4 with 4:03.38 and 4:04.65 miles this indoor season.
