Florida has Three More National Champions!

Saturday saw Florida athletes win three more National titles at the NON and the NBON. Zamarii Sanders, Alivia Williams, and the Miami Northwestern Girls 4x400m Relay all win.

At the New Balance Outdoor Nationals, in a final where both Christian Miller and Joshua Howell Creekside and the St. Johns Striders  DNS, So. Zamarii Sanders of American Heritage won the 100m Championship race with a 10.27.  


Montverde Sr. Alivia Williams had an incredible year in the 400m and she capped it off with a win at the NBON running another sub-53, 52.99.  Her teammate, So. Nakira Hudson was 6th in 54.23.

Other top finishers in the Championship events at the New Balance Championship were:

Alex Georgiev of Montverde was 3rd in the Boy's Pole Vault with a clearance of 4.90m (16-00.75)

Adaejah Hodge of Montverde was 3rd in the 100m Finals with a time of 11.51.

IMG Academy Sr. Aniyah Kitt was 7th in the 100m with an 11.72.

8th grader Vanessa Waite, running for Power House Athletics was 8th in the 100m with an 11.90.

The IMG Academy girls had the fastest qualifying time of 45.82 in the 4x100m Relay heading into today's finals despite Aniyah Kitt running her leg with one shoe. The squad is made up of Julienne Warner, Aniyah Kitt, Tyler Lowe, and Sydney Harris. They will go head to head with Archbishop Carroll who went 45.87.  Running as the South Dade Express, the squad Miami Southridge of Brianna Harper, Jalisa Marshall, Tamiya Mccoggle, and Meara Rasul are also in the final with a 46.97.

The other win came at the Nike Outdoor Nationals as the Miami Northwestern team of all Juniors, Kashia Hoo, Kahalia Hoo, Tyra Cox and Leanna Rose won the Championship 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:43.44.

Also at Nike, Rachael Uvieghara of Palm Harbor University HS following her 100m win, was 2nd in the Championship 200m with a time of 23.17.
