Jr. Demetrie Meyers of Buchholz HS is having a standout year and has moved into the subjective rankings at #7. Shown here on the right, battling at the finish at Cecil Field with Sunlake Jr. Oscar Brown and Indian Rocks Sr. Blake Young.
There were some great performances in August and the first two weeks of September. It's always interesting to see who put in the off-season work and was ready to run early. The top 10 saw some movement and we are expecting some fast times to come out of the Northport Invitational this weekend on a historically fast course. Of course, time is not the only driving factor, especially in XC. It is important, however, along with effort, place, and consistency throughout the season. I would expect, just like the girls, we will see more movement in the 11-20 positions in the next two weeks.
