It's a big weekend with the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, OR, the New Balance National Outdoors in Philadelphia, PA, and the Adidas Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, NC , all taking place. Florida athletes are sprinkled at all three.
At the Nike Outdoor Nationals, North Bay Haven graduate Margaret Bartlow, capped off her high school career running a 16:40.51 in the Girls Championship 5,000m. Bartlow was 5th. Her time is a U.S. No. 6 and a Florida No. 3 All-Time in the 5,000m.
Yesterday at the NBNO, Omar Thomas from Margate, FL, running unattached, set a new NBNO Middle School 400m record with a time of 48.87. His time was just of his 48.85 that he ran on May 24th at the FSG Athletics Best of the Best Memorial Weekend Championships. We have not seen Thomas much, but his 48.85 ranks him at Florida MS No. 6 AT in the 400m.
