Running Friends Forever. Org Announces 2005 Scholarship Winners

Danielle Dorfman, President and the Running Friends Forever Foundation's 3rd Annual Scholarship Program scholarship committee is proud to announce the winners of this year's scholarship, runners who demonstrated their excellence and leadership in running, academics and community. This year's male winner is Eddie Arguello, a Belen Jesuit Prep X-country and T&F star who plans to run for Florida International University. The scholarship selection committee made a special decision this year to select two outstanding female X-Country and T&F runners who both demonstrated excellence on the field, in the classroom and the community. This year's female winners are Jennifer Barringer, an Oviedo High School runner who will be attending the University of Colorado, and Christina Woytalewicz, of Riverview High School in Brandon, Florida who will be running for Florida State University.

Previous winners received $500 plus a beautiful trophy and included: Jose Garcia and Javier Cruz, Belen Jesuit graduates, Katherine Cardenas of Coral Reef HS, Katherine Harris, Central High graduate and Samantha Postigo of Sunset High. However this year, a last minute donor contributed an extra $250 for each scholarship amounting to $750 for each winner this year in addition to a beautiful trophy donated by Ransom Everglades' Running Coach Kappelman.

Danielle feels "blessed that this kind donation from a local community leader and marathon runner will help these runner's dreams come true." This kind of generosity enables her group to provide a full range of goods and services such as running gear and seminars to elementary through high school athletes from all over the world.
