2026 Florida Performer of the Week: Previous winners
Armando Cruz of Belen (Feb. 23-28). One of the top juniors in the state, Cruz did not qualify for the 3A state finals, but finished the season with a FL #9 4:13.75 and a #4 8:58.29.
Samuel Johnson of Montverde Academy (Mar 2-8) The junior finished his season with a PR leap of 7.36m (24-2.75) in the long jump and a state-leading triple jump of 15.35m (50-4.45).
Jack Michalak of Belen Jesuit (Mar 9-15), in 3A, the sophomore ran a leg on the Belen winning 4x800m and was 4th in the 800m (1:52.21) and 2nd in the 1600m (4:18.26). He was ranked #2 in the state in the 800m (1:51.19).
Kedric Wright Jr.. of Palatka (Mar 16-22) The junior won the 2A State championship in the 100m (10.60) and is ranked #4 with a 10.31. He won the State 400m in a FL #1 and US # 7 46.07.
Julian Luiz of the Benjamin School (Mar 23-29). The senior won the 400mH (54.26) in the 1A State championships and was 14th in the long jump (6.29m (20-7.5). He is the #7-ranked boy in the 400mH with a 53.39.
Jaxon Jerabek of IMG Academy (Mar 30- Apr 5) The South Carolin transplant senior is ranked US #1 in the Pole Vault with a vault of 5.51m (18-1). It is the Florida #1 all-time vault.
Marcelo Mantecon of Belen Jesuit (Apr 6-12) The junior ran a leg on the Belen Jesuit winning 3A 4x800m and won the 1600m (4:17.38), the 800m (1:51.40), and the 3200m 8:56.02. He ran a 4:04.83 1600m tht is Florida #6 all-time and a Florida #2 all-time 8:35.33 3200m.
Tate Rodriguez of Milton HS (Apr 13-19) The junior was 9th in the 3A State championships with a 1.87 (6-1.5). He had a PR of 2.02m (6-7.5).
Kobe Johnson of Dunbar (Apr 27-May 3). The senior won the 3A 110mH in 13.72 and was 2nd in the 400mH (53.58). He is ranked #1 in the 110mH with a 13.62 and #8 in the 400mH.
DJ Dobie of Lakeland HS (May 4-10) The senior took the 4A 100m title at the FHSAA Outdoor State Finals in 10.24, ranking him #4 in the State. He also ran 21.69 in the 200m.
