Mitchell Invitational #4

Sophomore Kara Young of Zephyrhills High won the 100 meters in 12.58, but had a little inspiration to motivate her to the season opening victory. Zephyrhills senior Brandon Carvalho died in a car crash in December and recent ZHS alum Jacob Vaden passed away just a week ago.

Charles Johnson Invitational

A little wind at the back helped Jeremiah Green to some huge jumps with a 23-4 long jump and a whopper 50-6.5 in the triple. They would have most likley been over the limit (there was no guage), but WOW for a 2012 opening performance!

Maclay Small Schools Meet

Stefanie Kurgatt had a great opening showing with a time of 4:56.50 that broke Jana Stolting's school record by a second. It was a solo effort by Kurgatt with splits 70, 2:25 (75), 3:42 (77), 4:56 (74). Really great to finally see her starting the season healthy and fit!
