As we have approached the midway mark of the season, it's time to take a little look into one of the big annual post season events for cross country in the state of Florida, the Florida Athletic Coaches Association's Senior All-Star Meet! Every year after the FHSAA State Championship, the F-A-C-A extends official invitations to the top 64 senior athletes from around the state (32 boys and 32 girls) to be able to participate in an intimate, fun, and entertaining meet that is traditionally held in Tallahassee.

This year's Senior All-Star Meet will be hosted on Saturday, December 1st and will be run on the Apalachee Regional Park course, which is the FSU home course that was used for the Pre-State Invitational and will be used for the FHSAA State Finals later this season. This year, along with the help of Jason Byrne of flrunners.com and the Gulf Winds Track Club of Tallahassee, the event looks to be the best one yet! Besides earning the honor of competing for their respective geographical locations from around the state, the selected seniors of 2012 will be honored at the event in a variety of fashions. All competing seniors will receive official team jerseys, FACA commemorative t-shirts, FACA drawstring shoe bags, all-star gold medallions, and the winner of each gender race will receive an individual championship plaque!
