PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University community is mourning the sudden loss of long-time head cross country and track coach, Charles Torpey, who passed away on Friday. Torpey, 58, won 16 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year honors, including 13 in cross country, and led his teams to 15 Atlantic 10 Championships during his illustrious 17-year tenure at La Salle.

Day one of the Section 1 State Qualifiers were held at Arlington High School in Dutchess County. Early on the wind was over powering but as the meet progressed it seemed to ease up. Great weather is expected across NY State all weekend long.
The Harrison boys won the Section 1 Class B title last Friday. Harrison was the top ranked boys class B team in the state indoors and they look to be the best again outdoors.
