Four classifications with four regionals in each means a total of 16 regional meets. We breakdown all of those using our virtual meet feature to see which individuals and teams have the best shot at making the state meet. It may just be February, but its never too early for predictions.

Both return in 2017 and are two of the top distance runners in the region and all of 2A. We break down all four regionals and which athletes have the best chances of advancing to the state meet.

Holy Trinity senior Giana Gayles is one of the most versatile athletes in the state and a favorite in several events at the 1A Region 3 Championship. Girls Middle School Rankings: Tamari Davis Legacy Lasts One More Year Todd Grasley Feb 06, 2017

Abraham Lincoln Middle School 8th grader Tamari Davis isn't just one of the best youngsters in Florida, but in the country as well. Last year, she won both the 100 and 200 at the FLYRA Middle School State Championship. Davis then went onto set PR's of 23.94 for 200m at Flo Golden South and 11.77 at the Adidas Boost Boston Games Dream 100 where she finished third against the best high school sprinters in the U.S. We rank the top 50 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls in EVER event. Sophomore Girls Rankings: Denise White Is The Panhandle's Triple Threat Todd Grasley Feb 01, 2017

Panama City sophomore Denise White ranks in the top five in the 100 (12.02), 200 (24.59) and high jump (5'2") for the class of 2019. In the distance events Nicole Matysik who have flexed their muscles on the cross country course will do the same on the track. While the field events Caroline Johnston of Episcopal is a quadruple threat in the 100m hurdles, long jump, high jump, and pole vault.  We take a look at the 50 best returners in every event.


Sophomore Boys Rankings: 400m State Champion Monte Parker Has More To Prove Todd Grasley Feb 01, 2017

Monte Parker won a state title for Stranahan in 2016 as a freshman. Parker was victorious in the 400m dash for the Dragons running a PR of 48.89 which ranks 4th among sophomore returners in that event. His 300mH time is number one and he is also ranked in the 100m and 200m dash as well so it will be interesting to see which events he run in after transferring to 2A defending champions American Heritage. We take a look at the top class of 2019 boys in every event.


T&F Team Scores - 4A Girls - Southridge Returns All But Two From 2016 Runner-Up Team Todd Grasley Jan 26, 2017

The Southridge girls finished just six points behind 4A state champions Lakewood Ranch in 2016. It's an impressive feat when you take into account they didn't come in first in any event. Of the point scorers on that squad, they return all but two members, including sprinters Symone Mason, Shaniya Williams, and Kayla Johnson, as well as jumper Courtney Gibson and are the favorites to bring home the title.


T&F Team Scores - 4A Boys - 2.5 Points Separated 1st From 4th In 2016, Another Close One In 17' Todd Grasley Jan 26, 2017

Two and a half points separated first from fourth place at the boys 4A state championship in 2016 with the meet coming down to the final event the 4x400m relay. According to our team scores for 2017, St. Thomas Aquinas is ranked number one, but you can't count out Columbus (seen here), or two schools that received major transfers. Miramar benefited from Jamal Walton who is one of the top 200/400m runners in the country, while East Ridge inherited triple threat Tariq Evans and speedster Lavonte Valentine.


T&F Team Scores - 3A Boys - Chiles Timberwolves Tackling Run At 4th Straight Todd Grasley Jan 25, 2017

43 points was all the Chiles' boys track team needed to win their third straight 3A state championship. The Timberwolves lose thrower Cole Upthegrove to graduation but return both Jordan Poole and James Hansen as well as a talented group of distance runners. Creekside and Miami Northwestern should also be in the mix, but don't count out Miami Norland who now have transfer Tyrese Cooper's, one of the most dangerous sprinters in the country. 


T&F Team Scores - 2A Girls - Bolles Distance Depth, Well Rounded Squad Makes Them Favorite Todd Grasley Jan 24, 2017

The Bolles girls are back to defend their 2016 2A track and field state championship and the Bulldogs don't lack depth in any event. Caitlin Collier swept the distance events last year and returns for her junior year along side her cross country teammates that finished as the 2A runner-up.  Combine that with several strong sprinters and hurdler and middle school pole vault state record holder Laine Roberts, they will be hard to stop.


T&F Team Scores - 2A Boys - AMH Relying On Sprint Speed To Power Them Back To Back Todd Grasley Jan 24, 2017

American Heritage won the 2A crown in 2016, but lose hurdler McKinly Brown to graduation. The school has one of the top football programs in the country and will hope to get some of those gridiron standouts onto the track. Anthony Schwartz is the defending 100/200m champion and was a major factor in the team's relays. Six other teams are listed higher on our pre-season rankings making the chance to defend very hard. Satellite High School is the top team with an impressive distance corp and the number one ranked pole vaulter in Noah Mumme.
