FHSAA 1A State Meet Boys Recap

FHSAA 1A Boys 200m Dash
Jacob Panzarella (First Baptist Academy) 21.23

After being denied attempts twice earlier in the meet to win his third FHSAA state track title, First Baptist Academy senior Jacob Panzarella made sure that he would get on the top of that podium in his last try of the day in his 100-400-200 meter triple repeating as the 1A state champion at 200 meters with a 21.23 clocking.

The University of South Florida commit finally got a chance to race head to head the top qualifiers he did not see earlier in the 100 meter dash having to come out of section 1 including the 100 meter champion Kevin Levy of Cardinal Newman and the top regional qualifier in D'Angelo Ponds of Chaminade-Madonna.

Running to the outside of them in lane 7, Panzarella never let any of them make up the stagger on them from start to finish holding the advantage en route to another 200 meter victory on the state stage.

A pair of Cardinal Newman sophomores took the next two places after Panzarella clocking times in the mid 21's with Josh Philostin (2nd, 21.47) and Levy (3rd, 21.54).
