Every cross country season Flrunners.com and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) help put together a series of state rankings throughout the season for the benefit of our sport. The work is put together by a group of volunteer coaches and/or parents so that the fans of the sport (including ourselves) can try to track the progress of our team, our competition and have a better understanding of where we stand amongst our peers.
Starting on Wednesday, September 1st we will release the current Flrunners.com Computer Pre-season Rankings by Classification. Many of you have already seen the all-classification rankings that Jason put out a few weeks ago, but we'll break it down by class for all of you and many of this year's transfers will already be included in these rankings. From there we look towards the pollsters for some direction rather than just what the computers tell us.
Now during the season we will have seven sets of rankings by our volunteer pollsters that will come out after the intial pre-season computer rankings. These rankings will all be released on Wednesday mornings (or Tuesday evenings if you're lucky)! The first four will be released on a bi-weekly schedule during the regular season and then the final three will be on a weekly basis for the State Series.
Here are the dates for the rankings:
1) September 8th, the pollster Pre-season rankings
2) September 22nd, after Opening week
3) October 6th, after Flrunners 11 weekend
4) October 20th, after Pre-State Invitational weekend
5) November 3rd, District Championship rankings
6) November 10th, Region Championship rankings
7) November 17th, State Championship rankings
