An In-Depth Pepsi Florida Relays Sprints Preview

Girls 100m Hurdles

Florida high school state record holder and current national leader Aleesa Samuel comes in as the favorite in a stellar girls 100 meter hurdles assembled for the Florida Relays with her 13.26 wind-legal personal best.

Samuel was also the New Balance Nationals Indoor champion this past winter in the 60 meter hurdles.

Her challengers will be a pair of sub 14 second hurdlers from the Bullis School of Maryland in Myla Greene (13.50 PR) and Kennedy Flynn (13.85 PR) as well as two athletes vying who should be vying for the FHSAA 4A state title in the event this spring along with defending champ Skye Tolbert of Niceville between George Jenkins sophomore Chelsi Williams (13.54 PR) and Sandalwood junior Brittney Jennings (13.80) Williams just edged out the Bob Hayes Invitational two-time champ Jennings last weekend at FSU.

Greene of Bullis was the New Balance Nationals Outdoor runner-up in the event last spring and finished 4th at the USATF U20 Championships last summer. Williams and Jennings are currently ranked second and third in the state behind Samuels for the 100 meter hurdles.
