Boys 100m Dash
It will not be a question whether Issam Asinga can get the win the 100m. But will he get a legal wind?
Last week at the FSU Relays, Asinga benefited from a tailwind over the wind-legal limit at +3.1 meters/second to roll toward one of the fastest all-conditions performance in Florida and in U.S. high school history at 10.06.
Behind Asinga will be a crew of Florida's best, and it will include the American Heritage duo of Zamarii Sanders (10.40) and Brandon Bennett (10.43), who both went into the low 10.4s with wind-legal efforts this season.
Class 4A state champion at 200 meters, Creekside junior Christian Miller (10.42), will also be in the race.
Sanders, Bennett, and Miller are all ranked among the top five in the country with wind-legal times.
Another athlete to watch in this field, as he has yet to really race against top competition in large invitationals this spring, is Seminole Sanford senior and Harvard commit Amari Turner. He ran 10.58 at last year's FHSAA Class 4A state runner-up in the event.
