Girls Top Athletes to Watch
SPRINTS
Heat 2 of the Girl's 100m is loaded with talent and speed. Sr. Kyndal Turner of the Paxon School is the leading returner. She was 2nd last year in 11.82. Watch for her to challenge Montverde Academy Fr. Dasia Reed for the title. Hodge has run 11.45. Watch for Sr. Kennidra Spigner of Miami Carol in lane 6 to get one of the top three spots as well. She has run 12.00.
Eight girls come in with seed times in the
200m under 25.00. Only Montverde Sr.
Alivia Williams and her teammate Fr.
Dasia Reed have run sub-24. Williams has run 23.67 and Reed 23.81. Montverde may go 1,2 and 3 with So.
Nakira Hudson coming in with the 3rd fastest time of 24.24. Don't count out Sr.
Skyler Watts of the Episcopal School of Jacksonville or another Montverde girl, So.
Ellise Dickinson from being in the mix and getting one of the top spots on the podium.
In the
400m, everyone will be chasing a trio of Montverde girls down the straightaway. Sr.
Alivia Williams of Montverde was 2nd last year in 54.84. She is undefeated in the 400m outdoors this season. Her only loss in the 400 comes with a 2nd place finish and indoor PR of 53.03 at the NBNI. Outdoors she has run 52.30 this season. Right behind her are her teammates Sophomores
Nakira Hudson (53.83) and
Ellise Dickinson (54.82).

DISTANCE RACES
In the 800m, the top 5 2A-ranked girls are also your top seeds. Bets are on Kennedy Hill.
So.
Brooke McCoy of Episcopal School of Jacksonville (2:16.84)
The girl's
1600m should be one of the best of the day. Throw out the Seed times. Sr. and Florida State Commit,
Brooke Hooper of Pine Crest is the defending Champion. She ran 4:56.86 to win her title. Bishop Verot Jr.
Mackenzie De Lisle has run 4:58.06. These two should battle each other and the winner will once again go under 5:00. The only other girl in the field that has been under 5:00.00 is 7th Grader
Annabella Tomasic of Lake Highland Prep who ran 4:59.50 last season. Tomasic was the 2A State XC champion last fall running 17:32.90. We haven't seen her much this spring, but I wouldn't count her out of the mix if she is healthy.
Cardinal Mooney Sr.
Addison Dempsey is the #2 ranked girls in the State All Divisions in the
3200m this season. She has run 10:31.97. She is 11 seconds faster than the #3 ranked girl, Jr.
Margaret Bartlow of North Bay Haven. Bishop Verot Jr.
Mackenzie De Lisle is ranked #6 All Division with a 10:44.38. All of these girls know each other. Dempsey likes to take the pace out and only has one speed. She should press the field and it will be a matter of who wants to go with her after the first 1600. All of the girls will be doubling so we will see who still has the legs. The unknown again is 7th grader
Annabella Tomasic of Lake Highland Prep.
