Providence is the team to beat heading into the State meet. They were third last year, scoring 147 points, and all of their girls return this year. It's not going to be easy, however, as last year's state runner-up, Pensacola Christian, and Oak Hall will battle with Providence for the top spot. Pensacola Christian handily won the 1A-1 District with 18 points, and Oak Hall took the 1A-2 District with 36 points, edging out Providence with 40. All three teams went head-to-head in the 1A-1 Region last weekend, with Providence showing why they are the favorite to win the state title. Providence took the 1A-1 Regional title with 49 points, Pensacola Christian was second with 61, and Oak Hall was third with 64.

The Pensacola Christian Academy girls won the team title in 2023. They were runner-up to Cambridge (Christian) School last year by 13 points, and they will definitely challenge for the title this year. They were a young team last year, and all of their scorers return this year except for their #5 scorer last year, Eliana Reynolds. The team is led by an experienced senior, Jaimee Tutton, who was 3rd last year. Their No.2 runner all season has been Sr. Reagan Smith. Smith was 7th at state last season. Joining Tutton and Smith are returners Jr. Jalyn Johnson (63rd), So.Clara Goncalves (24th), and Sr. Sofia Peterlevitz (27th). At regionals, Johnson was 21st, Goncalves 23rd, and Peterlevitz 30th. Sr. Karissa Keyser was the No. 3 runner for the girls at regionals, and 7th-grader Brooklyn Haddox was the No. 6 runner.
Oak Hall
Sr. Estella Collante (#612) of Oak Hall and Lola Murfee have led the Oak Hall girls all season and put them in a position to challenge for the team title this Saturday.

Oak Hall should not be counted out for the title and will definitely be on the podium. While they were third at the 1A-1 regional to Providence and Pensacola Christian, anything can happen at State, and much will depend on their No. 5 scorer. At regionals, through the No. 4 runners, they were nine points ahead of Pensacola Christian. The teams were only separated by three points, and a few places may make a big difference at the State meet. The top four scorers for Oak Hall are all returners from last season. They are led by Sr. Estella Collante, who was 2nd at Regionals. After Collante, they are all underclassman: Jr. Lola Murfee (5th), 7th-grader Reese Allen, and So. Alexis Thur de Koos. Their numbers 5-7 are young, Macie Bell is a 7th-grader, and Tenley Guggenheimer and Kloe Greyling are 6th-graders. Will one of the middle schoolers step up?
