Congratulations to Hayden Higgins of East Lake HS, who was voted the Florida Girls Performer of the Week for April 27-May 3, for her triple win in the FHSAA 4A Region 3 championships. She won the 100m hurdles in 13.63, long jump (19-10.19), and triple jump of 39-2.87.
Runner-up in the voting was Nakira Hudson of Montverde. Hudson ran a 54.08 in winning the 400m in the 2A2 region and was 3rd in the 200m with a 23.94.

Atarah Robinson, Venice HS: Turned in a strong distance double at the FHSAA Outdoor State Finals, winning the 1600 in a new FHSAA meet record time of 4:46.50 and placing second in the 800 with 2:09.56.
Nia Armstrong, Sickles HS: Won the 100m hurdles at the FHSAA Outdoor State Finals in 13.41, making her the top sophomore in Florida in the event.
Vanessa Waite, Lake Minneola HS: Posted an impressive sprint double at the FHSAA Outdoor State Finals, clocking 23.17 to win the 200 and running 11.57 for third in the 100. The #1 sophomore in the state in the 200 and #2 sophomore in the 100.
Olivia Higgins, Coral Springs HS: Clocked 2:09.09 to capture the 800 title at the FHSAA Outdoor State Finals, defeating state-ranked Atarah Robinson in the process.
Evie Freeman, Bolles HS: Soared to victory in the long jump at the FHSAA Outdoor State Finals with a leap of 20-2.52.
