Professional sprinter and Florida great Marvin Bracy will be coming to Englewood to speak to the Englewood Elite Track Club and any and all spectators. The event  is Saturday, June 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Ann Devers Memorial Park. The event is FREE and open to the public.

When Ro'Derick Spears and Robenson Saintard were introduced to track in middle school they had no idea where the sport would bring them. Together, the two have made quite the name for themselves and everyday they run for the same reason. That reason being, their good friend and teammate Marcus Allen Freeman. Freeman passed away in March 2011 due to an automobile accident. The duo says they will never forget that day and will always remember Marcus.

Lemon Bay High School hosted a 1A-2A varsity invitational that knocked off the cob webs with some very exciting races. The home team Mantas were victorious for boys and girls overall, and the Braden River girls and Southeast boys took second place, respectively.

Former Leon standout Matt Mizereck had an incredible high school career winning six individual state championships, one runner-up title, a third place finish, and three team state championships. Along with dominating the state competition, Matt also took his talents up to North Carolina and won a national championship in the 5k at New balance Outdoor Nationals his senior year as well as being a Foot Locker Finalist in cross country. Mizereck chose to compete for the University of Florida and represent the Gators.
